Hand carved in Bali from rich acacia wood, this Barong Sai (also spelled “Sae” or “Sai”) is a striking example of traditional Balinese protective art. Designed to be displayed above a doorway, this guardian mask is believed to ward off evil spirits and attract positive energy
Barong is the revered spirit king and emblem of righteousness in Balinese mythology he battles Rangda, the demon queen, in ceremonial dances that symbolize the eternal struggle between good and evil. The Sai variant, often featuring a fierce, demon-like face, acts as a powerful door guardian, channeling protective energy to keep harmful forces at bay .
